Howland Recital Hall is one of the most heavily used rooms in the Vern Riffe Center.

Every day it is filled by dance and exercise classes. Evenings you will find the Portsmouth Wind Symphony rehearsing or karate, kendo and various dance clubs meeting.  Weekends often see receptions of some sort occurring.
